Candle Care Instructions

Candle care is essential to ensure optimal performance, longevity, and safety. Below are some candle care instructions to follow:

CANDLE CARE

Initial Burn: When lighting a new candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the entire surface becomes a pool of melted wax. This process, known as the "memory burn," helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn in subsequent uses.

Trim the Wick: Before each use, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch (0.6 cm) in length. Trimming the wick helps maintain a controlled flame, minimizes soot and smoke, and prevents the wick from becoming too long or mushrooming.

Burn Time: Candles have a recommended maximum burn time. Avoid burning a candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time to prevent overheating and excessive heat buildup. Allow the candle to cool and solidify before relighting.

Avoid Drafts: Place candles away from drafts, such as open windows, fans, or air conditioning vents. Drafts can cause an uneven burn, excessive flickering, and can even lead to candle extinguishment.

Safety Precautions: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Ensure that they are placed on a stable and heat-resistant surface. Always use a candle holder or tray designed for candles to collect any dripping wax.

Extinguishing: To extinguish a candle, use a candle snuffer or gently blow on the flame. This helps prevent hot wax from splattering. Avoid using water or blowing forcefully, as it may cause wax to spill or the wick to dislodge.

Candle Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Exposure to heat and sunlight can affect the color, fragrance, and consistency of the wax.

Clean Burning: Keep the candle's container clean and free from debris, such as trimmed wick fragments or matchstick remains. These materials can ignite and pose a fire hazard.

Avoid Overburning: Discontinue use when the candle has only about ½ inch (1.3 cm) of wax remaining. Burning a candle too close to the bottom of the container can cause the container to overheat or crack.

Test Fragrance: If you have sensitivities or allergies, it's advisable to perform a fragrance test before burning a scented candle for an extended period. Light the candle briefly to ensure the scent does not cause any adverse reactions.

By following these candle care instructions, you can maximize the enjoyment of your candles while maintaining a safe and pleasant burning experience.

Wax Melt Care Instructions

Caring for wax melts is important to ensure optimal performance and safety.  Below are some care instructions for wax melts

WAX MELT CARE

Wax Warmer: Use a wax warmer specifically designed for melting wax melts, only use  tea-light warmers or UL listed electric warmers that are approved for wax melts.  Ensure that the wax warmer is in good working condition and follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper use.
Placement: Place the wax warmer on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep it away from flammable materials, such as curtains, papers, or furniture. Make sure it is out of reach of children and pets.
Wax Quantity: Use only the recommended amount of wax melts for your specific wax warmer. Overfilling the warmer can lead to overflow and potential hazards.Remove all packaging before melting your wax.
Wax Melts Removal: Once the fragrance has dissipated, and the wax no longer releases scent, allow the wax to cool and harden. Then, you can remove the hardened wax from the warmer. Alternatively, you can use a cotton ball or paper towel to absorb the melted wax while it is still liquid and discard it in a safe manner. Please be sure to properly dispose of wax. Do not pour down drains or in the toilet.
Cleaning: To clean the wax warmer, wait until the wax has cooled and solidified. Then, gently scrape off the hardened wax residue using a plastic or silicone tool. Avoid using metal or sharp objects that may damage the wax warmer.
Safety Precautions: Never leave a wax warmer unattended while in use. Keep it away from children and pets to prevent accidental contact with hot wax or the warmer itself.
Temperature Control: Follow the temperature recommendations provided by the wax warmer manufacturer. Avoid overheating the wax, as it can lead to scorching, excessive smoke, or a compromised scent throw.
Storage: Store your wax melts in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. This helps maintain the quality and scent of the melts.
